Schedule with Sara

Sara Kercho is a Licensed Professional Counselor - Associate supervised by Laura Quintanar, MS, LPC-S, RYT. She earned her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in International Communication from Texas Christian University. Sara is an EMDR trained therapist and member of the American Counseling Association. She offers counseling for teenagers and adults. Sara enjoys sharing the therapeutic benefits of dance and is certified in restorative and yin yoga.

Sara will work with you to find the best approach to counseling that meets your needs. The modalities she most often uses include EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), “Parts Work,” Somatic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Sara aims to create a therapeutic relationship based on empathy and empowerment. She recognizes that taking the step to seek counseling can be uncomfortable, and she is ready to meet you where you are on your wellness journey.

A note from Sara:
I strive to create a warm, welcoming environment where clients feel at ease and safe to explore the areas that need attention. I bring authenticity to the therapeutic relationship in hopes that you feel you can do the same, that includes dressing comfortably in session.

The UnEarthed studio is a unique space that doesn’t feel like you’re walking into an office or clinic. And our conversations tend to feel natural, like talking to a friend, but with the support and structure of a professional. I bring an open-minded, nonjudgmental presence to our work together and recognize that it’s a privilege to hold space for you

Fun facts about me:
I was a high school dance teacher and drill team director for a decade before transitioning into counseling. I am still involved in the dance world and enjoy providing mental wellness and leadership workshops to dancers. I’ve been incorporating mindfulness and therapeutic dance into my own wellness journey.

I have two sweet fur babies (dogs) with their own unique personalities. Jax is my squirrel hunter and loves to be outside, and Nala is my princess who hates getting wet and will steal your pillow with no remorse. I also like going to Dallas Stars games and hope to travel more in the future!

Sara is currently scheduling new clients for individual therapy sessions. She offers flexible options, accepting private pay, Aetna, and Cigna insurance, with rates of just $100/hour for private pay.

Additionally, Sara lovingly hosts donation-based Therapeutic Dance for the community on Saturday mornings. If you’re curious or interested in working with her, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
