ReWild

An invitation to step outside and come home to yourself.

This women-centered nature group weaves movement, mindfulness, and somatic practices into guided experiences on local trails. We gather to reconnect with the land, our bodies, and a deeper sense of belonging.

The journey starts now... Discover ways to reconnect with your inner Wild!

    • Connect with the Land: Engage with your local environment and learn about its ecosystems.

    • Buy less stuff: Resist the temptation to shop unnecessarily. Try taking a walk with your friends in the nearby woods instead of going shopping.

    • Reduce, Reuse, Recycle: Minimize waste by adopting sustainable practices.

    • Support Eco-Friendly Companies and Services: Choose businesses that prioritize environmental sustainability.

    • Advocate for Green Spaces: Promote the creation and maintenance of parks and natural areas in your community.

    • Clean It Up: Join or organize clean-up events in local areas. Alternatively, pick up a piece of trash and place it in a recycling bin when you go for a walk.

    • Embrace Natural Rhythms: Respect and follow seasonal changes in nature.

    • Practice Earthing: Spend time barefoot on natural surfaces to connect with the Earth.

    • Plant Native Plants: Opt for indigenous plants to support local biodiversity.

    • Establish No-Mow Areas: Designate parts of your yard where grass can grow wild and benefit wildlife.

    • Create a Wildlife Area in Your Yard: Convert a section of your garden into a habitat for birds and other wildlife.

    • Engage in Plant Sharing: Exchange native plants with friends and neighbors to encourage biodiversity and community.

    • Question everything! Get curious about the “whys” and begin to untangle what is truly yours from what has been placed on you.

    • Develop essential skills for self-sufficiency. Learn to grow your own food, source safe water, construct a shelter….

    • Rediscover ancestral and indigenous practices. Reconnect with your cultural and historical roots by learning skills and ancient practice that align with human nature.

    • Consume wild and seasonal foods, prioritizing what is available in your local environment during its respective seasons.

    • Spend time in nature daily; engage in outdoor activities like hiking, wild swimming, or simply sitting under a tree. Embrace the silence and explore what emerges from stillness.

    • Keep a journal to document your thoughts, experiences, and reflections. Limit your technology use—you knew this one would be included! ☺

    • Transition to a plant-based diet; eating more plant-based foods reduces your environmental footprint and aligns your lifestyle with the cycles of the natural world. Develop grit by embracing challenges as essential for growth and true wellness.

    • Engage in movement daily. Create a respectful and gracious connection with your body.

    • Focus on nutrient-dense foods and educate yourself on how what you consume affects your overall well-being.

    • Practice intuitive eating by recognizing your cravings and making food choices based on your true needs rather than emotions or societal habits.

You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.

ReWild

Purpose: To reconnect with the rest of nature and UnEarth your most authentic self. It's about untaming, questioning, observing, being, and ReWilding

Invitations: All the invitations for this event are totally optional. Go with what feels good for you and also consider trying something new.

The Flow

A sandy pathway through lush green vegetation leading to a lake, with a clear blue sky and scattered clouds in the background.
A landscape scene of a body of water with small waves, partially sandy and grassy shoreline with green bushes, and a partly cloudy sky at sunset.

Beginning: We meet at a trailhead as a group, then set an intention for the experience and enjoy a short and sweet centering practice to connect with our bodies and each other.

Middle: The hikes typically cover 2-4 miles, and there will be ample opportunities to take breaks, rest, and contemplate. During the hike, you will be invited to connect with nature, fellow hikers, or yourself.

End: The hike will conclude with invitations such as meditation, reflection, sharing, and/or a picnic.

Terrain: The hikes will take place in Texas, so expect mostly flat terrain with occasional elevation changes. Trails can range from rocky to sandy to all dirt.

What to bring:

Essentials: Water, comfortable clothing, sturdy shoes, and a snack or two.

Recommended: Backpack, sunscreen, bug spray, sunglasses, hat, whistle, journal/notebook, and writing utensils.

Cost: Our community hikes are donation-based. Give whatever amount feels right for you.

Parking: The parking arrangements will vary depending on the trailhead we use for the monthly hike.
